As part of The Ministry of Industry Trade and Tourism of Fiji, the office of The Fiji Trade Commission, Los Angeles (FTCLA) helps promote, facilitate and increase trade and investment opportunities between Fiji and the United States of America, Canada and South America.
Founded in 1997, FTCLA has years of experience coordinating strategies aimed at strengthening Fiji’s participation in the global marketplace, supporting exports and internationalization of Fijian businesses and coordinating activities aimed at attracting investment from the Americas.
As one of Fiji’s three trade commissions established throughout the world, the role of the FTCLA has become increasingly critical and valuable within an ever evolving competitive economy serving as the hub of the Pacific.
Fiji’s geographic location and regional transportation linkages ensure effective participation in the regional and global trading environment. The other two trade commissions are located in Shanghai, China and Taipei, Taiwan.
Our primary objectives are:
- To attract and secure foreign direct investment from the Americas that meet Government’s development agenda while contributing positively to Fiji’s economic growth
- To grow Fiji’s exports of goods and services
- To promote foreign trade, investment and the development of industries which offer employment opportunities for Fiji’s local communities
FTCLA is here to assist and support investors, exporters, and professionals alike who want to establish or expand a business in Fiji.
